Is it the clone season already? When I was writing my evaluation of Tippy Tavern, it seemed like every other review was for a clone or reskin of the original. Almost every aspect of its inspiration, Pile ’em Up, has been replicated in Tippy Tavern, with the exception of the aesthetics and sound effects. While this didn’t make playing Tippy Tavern unpleasant, it would have been wonderful if Snowborn had thrown in some new features to spice up gameplay, increase replay value, and the like.
There’s a lot going on, and what’s here is really nice. Having a Coin Booster Multiplier instead of a simple coin collector can lead to more exciting gameplay and, ideally, more coin winnings. The Coin Booster also contributes to the growth of the Happy Hour Bonus. Neither this nor the previous slot goes to really far lengths, but both are entertaining and provide a chance of earning 7,500 times the initial wager. Neither of the two slots is a classic, but they both have a charming, easygoing vibe that makes them enjoyable to watch. If you’re looking for a slot machine that caters to the masses, pick Tippy Tavern.
Since it’s essentially a reskin, it’s not surprising that playing Tippy Tavern was just as enjoyable as Pile ’em Up. Tippy Tavern may, however, edge out Pile ’em Up in the fun department if leprechauns happen to be a personal favorite—and judging by the abundance of leprechaun slots available, there must be quite a few enthusiasts.
